Current scripture source

The launch collection uses King James Version text, which is public domain in most jurisdictions. Records retain the book, chapter, verse range, displayed text, translation, and source notes. We check quotations against the stored record rather than generating them dynamically.

Public-domain status can vary by jurisdiction, and the KJV has special rights considerations in the United Kingdom. Deployment and licensing should be reviewed for the markets served. This page describes editorial policy and is not legal advice.

Modern Bible translations

NIV, ESV, NLT, NKJV, NASB, and other modern translations have publisher-specific permissions. VersePath does not bulk-publish those texts without a license. Where useful, we can identify the translation, provide a short permitted excerpt, or link readers to an authorized source.

Explanations may clarify older KJV vocabulary, but the explanation is never substituted into quotation marks. Readers can use the stable reference to compare translations in a licensed Bible service.
